winter work '07-'08
Continuing from the '06-'07 theme Bill & Fred's added more cosmetic additions to Shibumi. As always it is our desire to help you create lasting memories in cruising, we are constantly looking for ways to upgrade Shibumi to go beyond your expectation.
In addition to routine maintenance, our list of projects completed is as follows:
Plumbing
 | Add a fresh water spigot to the cockpit. |
| New shower drain lines for the VIP Stateroom and Bunk Room |
| Add hot water to cockpit sink. |
| Add raw water washdown pump to cockpit. |
Electronics/Electrical
| Install a battery meter to view Bow Thruster bank, Stern Thruster bank and Start Bank separately. |
| Add "High-Low" switch to salon heating to lower noise. |
| Replace all navigation lights to Peters & Bey with LED Anchor Light. |
| Replace Cockpit Halogen lights with new. |
| Replace Crows Nest Halogen Boat Deck lights with new. |
| Add 12v. LED lights on spreader (crows nest) |
| New Microwave. |
| Install new Primary Furuno GPS and add switch to select output for Computer and VHF between Primary and Backup |
| Add inverter GFCI to Wheelhouse and Bunk Room |
| New reading lights for VIP and Master berths |
| New reading lights in salon |
| Add new 115v brass wall lamps in salon with dimmer control. |
| Add LED lighting to outside walkways. |
| Add "Reverse Polarity" light to shore power panel |
| Install new lock-outs to shore power and generator breakers |
Deck Hardware
| Build New "Shibumi" signboards for Navigation Lights |
| Build rigid top for Flybridge with lace-on SeaMark fabric |
| Add storage organization in Lazarette for bins and lines |
| Add fixed mount VHF to Dinghy with fold down antenna |
| Install new searchlight |
Mechanical
| Add 2nd 20 gallon hot water tank plumbed in series. |
| Increase hydronic heat in Bunkroom from 7,000 btu's to 16,000 btu's |
| Boil out heat exchangers on main engines (preventative). |
Exterior Finish
| Strip and Varnish Flybridge cabinet doors. |
| New Black Galaxy granite table for Flybridge |
| Refinished Cockpit gunwale. |
| New California Deck Enclosure |
| New cover for Stern Windlass |
| New Cover for Flybridge instruments |
| New Cover for Bunkroom hatch |
| Add Dri-Dek lining to most exterior cabinets including Lazarette. |
Interior Finish
| Black Galaxy granite counters for salon. |
| Install floor in Master, Bunkroom & VIP closets |
| Install cabinet interior in VIP head under sink |
| Install new salon door hardware. |
